Brasília – The director general of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, said that the fund’s next forecast for growth of the global economy to will show a lower projection than the previous forecast, which was 3.5%, in April. The statement was made during the symposium on economics, in Tokyo.
Lagarde also praised the efforts of European leaders in the search for a solution to the crisis in their countries. She said that "important steps" had been taken, but that further reforms were necessary.
