Rio de Janeiro – The level of employment in industry returned to presenting a reduction in June, dropping 0.2% over May and 1.8% over June 2011.
According to figures disclosed in the Monthly Industrial Employment and Wage Research, disclosed on Friday (10) by the Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics (IBGE), June was the fourth month running in which employment in the sector registered a negative result, totalling 1.2% in the period.
According to the IBGE, the number of workers employed in industry dropped in June in 12 of the 14 sectors researched, in comparison with the same month in 2011.
