São Paulo – Manaus Industrial Hub, in Amazonas state, in northern Brazil, grew 36.12% in the first four months of this year. Between January and April, the hub had revenues of R$ 15.61 billion, 11.95% more than in the same period in 2005. In dollars, revenues totalled US$ 7.18 billion, 36.12% more than in the same period last year.
The electronic/IT product sector leads in terms of revenues, at US$ 3.93 billion and growth of 35.71%. Mobile telephones and televisions stood out as the main products, followed by DVDs, microcomputers and peripherals, receptors and signal decoders, audio equipment, car radios and air conditioners.
