Brasília – Industrial production and the number of jobs in the industry sector declined from June to July. These are the results taken from the Industrial Survey released this Friday (19) by the National Federation of Industry (CNI). The survey interviewed 2,532 companies from August 1 to 11.
The industrial production index stood at 46.6 points in July 2016, unchanged from June. According to CNI, since it remains below the threshold of 50 points, it indicates that the production declined from June to July.
The index measuring the number of jobs remained stable over the previous year at 45.1 points. The result indicates a new decline in the number of jobs. “Note, however, that the index shows an upward trend since February 2016, with a cumulative growth of 3.7 in the period. That is, the decline in the number of jobs is letting up”, said the CNI.
The indexes go from 0 to 100 points. Results below the threshold of 50 points indicate a decline in production and in the number of jobs. The lower the index, the more intense and widespread is the decline.
