Brasília – The Brazilian industrial production fell in September according to the Industry Survey made public this Friday (21) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). The indicator declined to 45.8 points while the number of employees index remained stable at 46.5 points. In August, the production stood at 50.8 points. The survey indicators range from zero to 100. When it stands below the threshold of 50 points it indicates a decline in production and employment.
In this scenario, almost a third of the industrial complex was idle last month, according to CNI. The capacity utilization indicator remained at 66%, the same as registered in September 2015.
In October, business owners’ forecasts on the next six months were less optimistic than in September. The Index of expectations on demand dropped 2.6 points over September and stood at 52.3 points.
