Rio de Janeiro – Industrial production in Brazil dropped in ten out of 14 localities monitored by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in October from September. Output declined the most in Pará (-6%), Paraná (-5.7%), Espírito Santo (-5.1%) and Amazonas (-4.9%), as per the Monthly Industrial Survey – Regional Production released this Tuesday (8).
Production also declined above the 0.7% national average in the states of Goiás (-2.2%), Rio de Janeiro (-0.9%) and Rio Grande do Sul (-0.8%). It also dropped in the Northeast (-0.5%), São Paulo (-0.4%) and Minas Gerais (-0.1%). Conversely, four states saw industrial output increase: Bahia (2.2%), Ceará (0.9%), Pernambuco (0.3%) and Santa Catarina (0.2%).
