Rio de Janeiro – In Brazil, after 34 straight months shrinking, industrial production increased by 1.4% year-over-year in January. The information was released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) this Wednesday (8).
In January from December 2016, however, industrial production slid by 0.1%. In the 12 months through January, output dropped by 5.4% – a less pronounced rate than in the 12 months through June 2016, which had seen a 9.7% decline.
