Rio de Janeiro – Industrial production in Brazil dropped in 11 out of 14 locations surveyed by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in October from September, as per the regional output report Pesquisa Industrial Mensal – Produção Física Regional. The biggest drop took place in Minas Gerais (-7.6%).
Other locations where production declined more than the national average (-1.1%) were Pará (-4.2%), Goiás (-3%), Amazonas (-2.5%), São Paulo (-2.4%), Santa Catarina (-2.1%) and the Northeast (-1.2%). Output also went down in Rio Grande do Sul (-1%), Espírito Santo (-0.6%), Ceará (-0.3%) and Bahia (-0.3%). Industrial production increased in Rio de Janeiro (3.4%), Paraná (2.7%) and Pernambuco (1.5%).
