Rio de Janeiro – Industrial output slid in ten out of 15 areas tracked by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in June from May. As per the Monthly Survey of Industry – Regional Physical Production made public this Wednesday (7), output slid the most in the states of Rio de Janeiro (-5.9%), Pernambuco (-3.9%) and Bahia (-3.4%).
Production was also down in the states of Paraná (-2.3%), São Paulo (-2.2%), Santa Catarina (-1.2%), Ceará (-0.9%), Minas Gerais (-0.9%) and Mato Grosso (-0.6%), as well as in the Northeast (-1.2%) – the only region for which numbers are released in conjunction.
Five states saw industry output climb: Pará (4.9%), Rio Grande do Sul (2%), Amazonas (1.8%), Espírito Santo (1%) and Goiás (0.1%).
