Rio de Janeiro – Brazilian industrial production was virtually stagnant in February, climbing 0.1% from January based on seasonally adjusted numbers. In the first two months of the year, production increased by 0.3%, as per figures released on Tuesday (4) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in its monthly production survey Pesquisa Industrial Mensal Produção Física Brasil (PIM – Brasil).
Year-on-year in February, output dropped by 0.8%. It had climbed by 1.4% year-on-year in January, capping a 34-month downward streak.
