Brasília – The indicator that measures the capacity utilization of the Brazilian industrial sector climbed from 66% in June to 68% in July. It’s the highest percentage seen in July in the last four years, according to the survey Industry Survey, shown this Wednesday (22) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). Large companies registered the highest capacity utilization rates at 73%. On average, they registered 73%. Small companies registered an average of 60%.
According to CNI, the fall of idleness levels is the result of production increase seen in the sector. As shown by the survey, the production improvement index reached 52.2 points in July. It was the second consecutive month in which in the index stood above 50 points, which indicates an increase in production, after the sharp fall registered in May due to the truckers’ strike. The production index varies from 0 to 100. When it registers above 50 points, it means an increase in production.
