Brasília – The Industry Confidence Index was down 0.8% in early December from November. In October and November, the index was respectively up 1.8% and 3.6%.
The decline to 84.9 points in December was driven by poorer current scenario assessments from poll respondents. The Current Situation Index dropped by 1.5% to 84.6 points in preliminary December results. The index has stabilized, following an 8.3% increase the prior month. The Expectations Index remained virtually flat: it was down 0.2% from 85.4 to 85.2 points.
The preliminary results for Use of Installed Capacity show a 1.2 percentage point decline in December from November, from 82.7% to 81.5%.
