Rio de Janeiro – The confidence of industrialists on Brazil’s economy remains bearish. The preliminary survey of the Industry Confidence Index (Índice de Confiança da Indústria – ICI), conducted by Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), has been released this Wednesday (19th). The index scored 103.7 points, down 1.2% from May (105 points). The indicator reflects a downward turn in perceptions regarding the current and future scenarios.
According to the preliminary survey, the Current Scenario Index (Índice da Situação Atual – ISA) is down 1% to 104.6 points, below the average of 105.1 points. The Expectations Index (Índice de Expectativas – IE) is down 1.3% to 102.8 points. The Level of Use of Installed Capacity (Nível de Utilização da Capacidade Instalada – Nuci) remained stable at 84.6%. The consolidated results will be released on June 26th.
The FGV polled 811 companies from June 3rd through 14th.
