Rio de Janeiro – Brazilian industrial production bounced back in March, with a 1.4% improvement over February, as per seasonally adjusted numbers (which factors in variances stemming from the number of days and peculiarities of each month).
The numbers were released this Tuesday (3rd) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). In March from March 2015, industry activity dropped 11.4% based on non-seasonally adjusted figures.
In the three months ended March, industry output dropped 11.7%. In the 12 months ended March, it was down 9.7%, the sharpest downturn since October 2009’s 10.3% drop.
