Brasília – The president of the National Confederation of Industries (CNI), Armando Monteiro Neto, said today (23) that industry should grow "vigorously" this year, as compared to 2009: around 7%. This should be the result of the transformation industry, civil construction and the mining area.
However, he points out that this should “only mean a return to pre-crisis levels, as the country should return to the performance identified in 2008". Last year, industry in general had a retraction of 7% over 2008, recalled Monteiro.
According to the Research and Economic Studies Department at the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Depecon/Fiesp), the growth forecasted by the CNI for 2009 should represent the carry over effect, with growth over the 2008 result, as their forecast is for 12% growth over 2009.
