Brasília – In June, Brazilian industry had a decline in output and number of jobs. According to a survey made with the sector and released this Tuesday (21st) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), the output index remained below 50 points and reached 40.3 points last month, 1.4 point below May’s index. This indicator varies from 0 to 100 and measures below 50 indicate output decline over the previous month.
According to the survey, the index of number of jobs stood at 40.7 points in the month, remaining below 50 points and with a negative variation of 0.7 point over May. For 44.8% of the businessmen surveyed, the main problem currently is the high tax burden. According to CNI, expectations of the industry’s businessmen are ever more pessimistic, but with a good outlook concerning exports.
