Rio de Janeiro – Inflation in Brazil was 0.33% in February of this year. The rate is a decline from 0.38% in January and 0.90% in February 2016, as per the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) issued this Friday (10) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in Rio de Janeiro. It’s also the lowest for a February since 0.13% in the year 2000.
Year-to-date through February, the IPCA is up 0.71%. In the 12 months through February, inflation was 4.76%, near the midpoint of federal government’s target, which is 4.5%.
