Brasília – The state-run Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero) estimates that theh airports it manages in Brazil will see 3.3 million passengers between this Thursday (23) and the end of Carnival season. The number is down 2.5% from last year.
Airports under concession to the private sector are also handling carnival travellers. The Brasília Airport, whose concession is held by Inframérica, is expecting 60,000 people on Friday (24) alone, with 392 landings and takeoffs on schedule, plus six extra flights.
Other major, privately-run airports include GRU, Guarulhos (SP), Galeão, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), and Confins, in Belo Horizonte (MG).
