Brasília – The Brazilian minister of Finance Henrique Meirelles said in Shanghai, China, where he’s attending the Brazil-China High Level Business Seminar, that there are signs of improvement in investment levels, after the slump of the past few years. The information was made public moments ago by the minister’s press office. “Now, we have a considerable growth forecast. It must be noted that investment was the first sector of economic activity to react, because there are clear signs that the Brazilian economy is growing,” he asserted.
Meirelles discussed existing opportunities to invest in infrastructure works in Brazil. According to him, 2016 to 2019 should see BRL 269 billion (USD 83.1 billion) worth of investment in oil and gas, electric energy, telecommunication, transportation, roads, sanitation, railways, airports, and urban mobility, among other areas. The minister also mentioned the pre-salt oil layer.
