São Paulo – This Monday (27th), the Brazilian Tourism Institute (Embratur) announced that it recorded 708,023 international arrivals at Brazilian airports in May, an increase of 25.28% compared with the same month of last year. According to the institute, the figure, supplied by the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero), is an all-time high for the period.
In the first five months of the year, 3,698,292 arrivals were recorded, 20.32% more than in the same period of 2010. The figures include foreigners who arrived in Brazil and Brazilians who returned to the country.
