São Paulo – Brazil was chosen to host the 5th International Conference on Beneficiation of Phosphate, to be held from February 11th to 16th, 2008 in the southeastern Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. The conference is organised by the Engineering Conferences Foundation.
Brazil occupies the seventh position in the global ranking of phosphate producers. The largest producer is the United States, followed by China, Morocco, Russia, Tunisia, and Jordan. The United States produce 26.7% of all phosphate consumed in the world, and China produces 18.1%.
