São Paulo –Kuwaiti businessmen have expressed keen interest in investment possibilities in Brazil, according to information supplied by the Foreign Trade vice president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Wladimir Freua.
Today (28th), Freua attended the first day of a seminar dedicated to showcasing investment opportunities in Brazil to Arab investors, held at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce. The event highlighted mainly the tourism and infrastructure fields, in addition to clarifying aspects of the workings of the Brazilian economy.
In an interview to ANBA, the vice president claimed that the Brazilian Central Bank representative, Alexandre Pundek, listed to those attending the seminar the aspects due to which Brazil was not as affected by the financial crisis as other regions of the world.
The director of the Financing and Investment Promotion Department of the Brazilian government, Hermano Carvalho, highlighted short-term investment possibilities in the country, as a result of events such as the World Cup 2014 and the 2016 Olympics.
Rodrigo Solano, the Market Development manager of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, discussed investment possibilities in roads, waterways, ports, electric power, among other infrastructure sectors.
“The Kuwaiti investors now have an up-to-date idea of existing opportunities in coming years, as well as of how Brazil overcame the financial crisis,” said Freua.
According to the vice president, the Brazilian ambassador to Kuwait, Roberto Abdallah, also believes that the seminar will yield results for the country. “The ambassador told me that a very promising future, in terms of Kuwaiti investment in Brazil, will basically depend on the continuation of actions that started today,” added Freua.
