Rio de Janeiro – Figures released this Thursday (17th) in Rio de Janeiro by Instituto Aço Brasil (IABr) show that Brazil imported 2 million tonnes of iron and steel products in the first half this year, being 1.201 million tonnes of flat-rolled products and 782,000 tonnes of long iron and steel.
The volume is up 18% from the same period in 2013. The institute has also reported that apparent domestic consumption of iron and steel products stood at 12.7 million tonnes in the first half, down 2.3% from the first half of last year.
