São Paulo – The Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant ended August with 100% productivity, according to data released by its press office. The percentage, which measures the water usage for power production, stands above the 96.8% registered in the year’s first eight months.
In August, Itaipu generated 7.23 million megawatts per hour. According to the plant, the output registered up until now could place 2017 among the plant’s five best output years since the beginning of its operations in 1984.
