Dubai – Dairy sector company Itambé has already signed two contracts during the Gulfood, a food sector fair that should end on Thursday (25), in Dubai. Each one of the companies, from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, bought 50 tonnes of powdered milk.
According to Guilherme Giffoni, export manager for the Middle East, these companies had already done business with Itambé, but were not regular buyers.
"The fact that we met here was decisive for the closing of the deal. Expectations are to close more [deals] during the event,” said Giffoni. According to him, the fair has been generating good contacts in all countries in the region.
According to Giffoni, the products that attracted most interest from Arab buyers at the Gulfood were powdered and evaporated milk.
Currently, the Arab market answers to around 10% of Itambé exports. "There is still much work to be developed,” analysed the executive. "The tendency is for significant growth,” he said.
