Amman – Kuwait has announced the grant of USD 2.2 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), as part of its yearly support to the agency. The information was published this Thursday (17) by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). The donation was delivered by the Kuwaiti ambassador in Amman, Jordan, Hamad Al-Duaij, to the UNRWA’s advisor to the director-general, Maria Mohammadi.
According to the advisor, the resources will aid Palestinian refugees to gain access to basic needs. The Kuwaiti diplomat also granted a total of USD 200,000 to a Kuwait fund focused on the healthcare area. UNRWA attends near 5 million Palestinian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Syrian, according to KUNA.
