São Paulo – The Kuwaiti government has decided to revoke the decision taken in 2020 to restrict the renewal of work permits for foreigners over 60 years of age and those who have only a high school certificate or a lower education degree.
According to the country’s official news agency, Kuna, the Minister of Justice of Kuwait, Jamal Al-Jalawi, announced this Monday (24) the government will resume issuing visas for these cases. According to the Arabian Business website, the measure ends a months-long discussion in the country.
The issue of visas will have a fee of KWD 250 (about USD 825 at the current rate). Workers must have health insurance from one of the companies listed by the government of the Gulf country.
The decision is valid for one year and includes husbands or children of Kuwaiti nationals, wives of men born in the country, and Palestinians with resident documentation.
