São Paulo – Kuwait’s Fehaid Aldeehani won the gold medal in the double trap category of Olympic shooting event this Wednesday (10) in Rio de Janeiro. The 49-year-old competitor had won two Olympic bronze medals in the past – one in Sydney, 2000 and another in London, 2012.
Aldeehani competed as an independent athlete, since Kuwait was suspended by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in October 2015. The ICO made the decision on grounds of undue government interference in the local Olympic committee.
