São Paulo – Francal, the largest fair in the shoes sector in Latin America, starts next week, on the 4th of July, in São Paulo. The fair is the greatest event in setting the fashion in shoes and accessories for the spring-summer season in the region and will carry on until the 7th of July.
The business done during the fair, and as from that moment, represent three to four months of production and up to nine months of sales to the exhibiting companies. This year, Francal is going to have 1,000 exhibitors and expects the visit of 60,000 professionals.
Brazil is the third greatest shoes producer in the world. With an annual volume of 725 million pairs, it loses only to China (8.8 billion) and India (850 million). In Brazil there are more than 8,400 factories in the shoes sector, one of the top employment generators in the country.
