São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce welcomed this Monday (19) afternoon sheikh Mohamed El Moghraby, a representative of Dat Al Efta, Lebanon. The religious leader, alongside the Chamber’s members of the board and president, Rubens Hannun, toured the organization’s new heaquarters, which was opened at the end of April.
Moghraby and Hannun walked throughout the Arab Chamber, which now occupies the 10th and 11th floor of the building number 283 at Avenida Paulista, São Paulo. The higher floor holds the events areas, such as the auditorium and the hall, as well as a museum, library and praying room, plus the board of director’s room. The 10th floor is where the management and operational areas of the organization are located.
The new headquarters was designed by Brazilian architect and urban planner Ruy Ohtake, who also designed the building now hosting the Arab Chamber. He used elements of the Arab culture in the décor.
The sheikh offered a present from his home country Lebanon to the Arab Chamber, a piece of quartz.
In addition to president Ruben Hannun, the sheikh was welcomed by Walid Yazigi, president of the Arab Chamber’s Management Council, Michel Alaby, CEO, Adel Auada, vice president of Management, Ruy Carlos Cury, vice president of Foreign Trade, Osmar Chohfi, vice president of Foreign Affairs, Riad Younes, vice president of marketing, directors Sami Roumieh and William Atui, and Ramez Goussous, senior advisor to the president.
