Brasília – Joaquim Levy, minister of Finance, said this Wednesday (23rd) that the current dollar price hike is part of a global trend and a problem not only to Brazil. To him, there’s a recovery process in the country, with several measures being taken. According to the minister, some impacts caused by the price of the North American currency in the domestic market are consequences of effects that were held back. The dollar broke the R$ 4 mark this Wednesday (23rd).
“I think that, first, there is a global foreign exchange rate movement and we have to be alert. The most important thing is for us to assess Brazil’s situation. I believe that the recovery process of the economy in ongoing. Several measures that were taken at the beginning of the year are generating effects. Now, what we see is a certain obstruction of these effects in the economy for other reasons but economic ones, let’s put it this way, reasons of insecurity”, he said after taking part of the Legal Security and Infrastructure Forum at the Federal Council of the Order of Attorneys of Brazil.
