São Paulo – Saturday (6) at 4 pm will see the Maronite Foundation host the live stream “The Centennial of the Proclamation of the State of Greater Lebanon – Celebrate or Reconsider?” The featured speaker will be Roberto Khatlab, a researcher and director of the Latin American Studies and Cultures Center at the Holy Spirit of Kaslik University (USEK) in Lebanon Líbano.
The State of Greater Lebanon was proclaimed in September 1920. The live stream is intended to provide food for thought. “Note that 100 years after the French declared the State of Greater Lebanon, in 1920, France’s president Emmanuel Macron visits Lebanon to help the country find its way out of the economic, financial and health crisis, and the problems caused by the Port of Beirut blast. On August 4, 2020, Lebanon must turn a page in history so a new Lebanon can be born,” says Khatlab.
The live stream will air on the Maronite Academy Alumni – Brasil YouTube channel.
