Santo Domingo – Yesterday (16) Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva attended the inauguration of the president of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez Reyna, the newly elected president who governed the country in the past from 1996 to 2000.
With the visit to the Dominican Republic, Lula consolidates his promise to strengthen political, economic, social and cultural ties with all the countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
During his visit, Lula will meet with the president of Guatemala, Oscar Berger, and speak to the Domincan-Brazilian chamber of commerce. Today Lula will attend a meeting of Latin American and Caribbean heads of state and government.
