São Paulo – BrazilRoxx was born focussing on the foreign market. The female garment and accessory factory is installed in São Paulo, but the brand has a showroom in Dallas, Texas, and representative offices all over the United States as well as distribution networks in Portugal, Spain, Canada, Germany and Australia. Stars like Madonna, Cher and Beyoncé have already worn brand garments. With the crisis, the United States, which used to buy 70% of production, reduced its purchases and the brand is seeking new markets. One of the bets is Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
"Arab women buy luxury garments and like quality, characteristics that are present in the clothes," said brand owner Rose Pileggi. "They are clothes with great personality. Those who wear BrazilRoxx know what they want and can pay for the value added to the garments that are carefully embroidered, one at a time," she says. "Dubai is gaining greater and greater visibility globally and our product has potential to enter that market," added the businesswoman.
According to her, when the company was established, six years ago, there was a great movement of Brazilians wanting to import products. "I thought we could take the opposite route. We have creativity, quality and qualified labour," said Rose.
The country public identifies well with the style of shirts and jeans made by the brand. BrazilRoxx has guaranteed participation in the main rodeos and country parties in the United States, like those in Denver, Colorado, where the brand parade opens the event.
"One of our clear characteristics is production of jeans incremented with exotic skins like ostrich, alligator and tilapia. All the items are customized and unique, with artistic finishing," she said.
BrazilRoxx generates around 200 indirect jobs in nuclei of embroiderers in the interior of São Paulo, in cities like Piracicaba, São Pedro and Ibitinga, apart from the capital. In the factory, installed in Morumbi neighbourhood, with production of 4,000 items a month, over 10 people are employed.
There is also space for the Fashion Boutique line. The mix of techniques and products used in each article is varied, also including stones and crystals. "The clients usually say that they only don’t use brand models when they have to go in dinner attire. On the contrary, the models are both for daily and evening use, both for leisure and fashion, but always elegant," explained Rose.
Domestic market
Despite being a Brazilian company, BrazilRoxx only started working on the domestic market in 2009. "We are preparing a new collection for release in Brazil and we should also have a line of women’s clothes," admitted Rose.
In January, the brand participated in Couromoda, an international shoe fair in São Paulo, and, in March, in the Country Fair, which also took place in the city of São Paulo. "We had good acceptance of our products. We noticed that there is market with growing demand here, but we are seeking partners," explained the businesswoman.
