Brasília – The Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology, by means of the Secretariat for Technological Development and Innovation and of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), is going to allocate 30 million Brazilian reals (US$ 16.8 million) to the financing of in-company scientific, technological and innovation-oriented research.
The initiative is provided for in the edict Pesquisa na Empresa (In-Company Research – Rhae), which aims to support the hiring, by companies, of holders of master’s degrees and doctorates in research, in keeping with the objectives of the Action Plan in Science, Technology and Innovation for National Development, and the priorities of the Production Development Policy.
In order to receive the financing, the proposals must meet a series of criteria, such as being linked to the technological development of products or processes, and aiming to increase the competitiveness of companies through innovation. The projects should have a maximum value of 300,000 reals (US$ 167,800) and there are three deadlines for submission. The first one is January 22nd, 2010 and the last one, August 27th.
