Brasília – Industrial production increased markedly and in widespread fashion in March from February in Brazil, the National Federation of Industry (CNI) reported. The production index was the highest for a March since 2011 at 54.8 points. Despite the increase, job numbers kept declining – although the jobs indicator did go up, it fell short of 50 points at 47.5.
The information is from the Industrial Survey poll released this Wednesday (26) by CNI. Indicators range from 0 to 100, with scores higher than 50 showing increments in production and jobs, and scores lower than 50 showing declines in production and employment. The latest poll was conducted from April 3 to 17 with 2,339 corporate respondents.
