Brasília – March saw 56,151 formal job posts created in Brazil, as per the General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Cadastro Geral de Empregados e Desempregados – Caged) made public this Friday (20) by the Brazilian Ministry of Labor. This was the third straight month of jobs going up in Brazil – with 77,822 posts added in January and 61,188 in February.
Employment was up 0.15% in March from February. In March, 1.34 million workers were hired and 1.284 million were fired in Brazil. This was also the best result for a March since 2013, when net job creation reached 112,450 posts.
Year-to-date, 204,064 net jobs were added, up 0.54% from a year ago. In the 12 months through March, 223,367 job posts were created, up 0.59% year-on-year.
