São Paulo – Brazilian economist, political scientist, and diplomat Marcos Troyjo (pictured above) will discuss the prospects for international trade in 2022 in a webinar hosted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) next Tuesday (8), from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm BRT (10:30 pm to 00:00 am GMT). At the event “International Trade Panorama for 2022,” the institution will also present its schedule of activities for the year to the participating entrepreneurs.
Troyjo will deliver the webinar’s keynote to help Brazilian companies guide their business in 2022. “We will provide business people with information to base their management decisions on international trade,” said the Marketing & Content director of the ABCC, Silvana Gomes.
Marcos Troyjo, president of the New Development Bank (NDB), has an outstanding track record in the national and international contexts. The diplomat was the deputy minister of Economy and special secretary for Foreign Trade and International Affairs of Brazil and represented the country’s federal government on boards of multilateral development institutions.
He was chairman of Brazil’s Foreign Finance Commission and National Investment Committee, co-founder and director of Columbia University’s BRICLab, director of the Intelligent Tech & Trade Initiative, and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Trade and Investment.
The economist holds a master’s and a doctorate in Sociology of International Relations from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a post-doctorate at Columbia University. The speaker has taught at several universities and international research centers and authored books on development, technology, and global affairs.
The president of the ABCC, diplomat Osmar Chohfi, will open and close the event. The webinar is free, and registration is open. The lectures will be given in Portuguese, with simultaneous translation into English. After the event, the webinar video will be subtitled in Arabic and sent to Arab business people.
2022 ABCC schedule
At the online event, the ABCC will present its activities planned for 2022, the year in which the institution will celebrate 70 years of its foundation. The celebration will be the pivotal point of the schedule, marked by the Brazil – Arab Countries Economic Forum, scheduled for July, the anniversary month. In addition to the forum, which has already become a meeting point for Brazil and Arab countries, missions, webinars, committee meetings, among other events, are planned.
The upcoming possibilities of interaction and networking offered to entrepreneurs will be presented. The institution will demonstrate its plans to strengthen companies concerning the technical knowledge of exports, with lectures on international operations management. The ABCC’s 2022 schedule will be hybrid, with some activities online and others in-person. Silvana Gomes and the director of New Business, Daniella Leite, will discuss the schedule.
