São Paulo – The Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has opened registrations for their post-graduate programs, which come with full scholarships for those accepted. Registrations for the courses, which start in autumn, can be made until May 31st, according to information released by the institution’s website. In the region, autumn occurs at the same time as spring in Brazil.
The institute focuses its researches in topics such as sustainability, renewable energy generation, improvement of technologies and materials, sustainable urban planning, energy efficiency, among others. In total, there are nine Master’s degree programs in the fields of Chemical Engineering, Computing and Information Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Water and Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Critical Infrastructure, plus the doctorate courses.
For the Master’s degree, the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering or Information Technology, with a high average grade and a minimum score of 91 at TOEFL (English proficiency test). It’s also necessary to send a curriculum, a letter of intention of studying in the Masdar Institute, and a draft of the research project, among other requirements. The institution points out in its website that the statement is very important.
The candidates accepted for the Master’s degree and doctorate courses of the Masdar Institute receive a full scholarship, which includes educational materials, a notebook, refund for the fares paid during the admission process (TOELF, GRE, etc.), housing, monthly financial help, health care and one airline ticket per year to visit the country of origin.
Masdar Institute is part of a sustainable city of the same name, created by the government of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, and hosts students from all parts of the world.
