São Paulo – Revenues of micro and small companies from the state of São Paulo rose 8.6% in the first quarter of 2006, presenting expansion of 8.6% over the same period in 2005. These figures were disclosed in the Conjectural Study of Small Retail of the Federation of Trade of the State of São Paulo (Fecomercio) and are the result of studies of 600 companies.
The growth was powered mainly by two sectors: garments, textile, and shoes, which presented 22.7% growth between January and March this year, and food and beverages, where growth was 12.2%.
