São Paulo – The Brazilian minister of Agriculture, Mendes Ribeiro Filho, met this Wednesday morning (6th) in Brasília with the Egyptian ambassador to Brazil, Hossameldin Mohamed Ibrahin Zaki. According to the ministry, they discussed trade and phytosanitary issues.
At the meeting, which took place at the ministry’s office, the two officials also discussed the preparations for a visit of Egypt’s president Mohamed Morsi to Brazil next May. A trip by Morsi to Brazil was scheduled for September 28, 2012, but was cancelled by the Egyptian head of state due to tensions in the country.
According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture, Mendes Ribeiro also met with the Iranian ambassador this Wednesday. Mohammad Ali Ghanezadeh and the Brazilian minister discussed trade between the two countries.
