Dubai – Brazil’s minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Tereza Cristina, arrived this Thursday (19) in the United Arab Emirates and had meetings on cooperation partnerships with local officials. The minister and her team were welcomed by Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADAFSA) director general Saeed Al Ameri.
According to information from her press team, the agency manifested interest in cooperation partnerships with Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), which was visited by ADAFSA in 2017. The minister suggested a second visit to Empraba so they could see Brazil’s new phase.
During the meeting, the minister presented investment opportunities in Brazil, detailing some agribusiness infrastructure projects important for production outflow, such as Ferrogrão and Leste-Oeste railway. ADAFSA representatives asked Brazil to chose and detail projects they consider successful.
The minister also addressed her plans for agribusiness. “We are in a rush; Brazil has been closed for a long time. We’ll diversify our products, add value to our exports and be bold in agriculture projects,” she said.
The UAE are the last Arab country Teresa Cristina is visiting in this mission to the region. She already had appointments in Egypt, then Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, accompanied by a corporate delegation that includes the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
