Brasília – Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy has created a workgroup to come up with proposals to modernize the country’s electric sector. As per the resolution published this Friday (5) on the Official Gazette, the group will look into aspects including the market environment and mechanisms to enable grid expansion.
It will also cover price formation, tax and subsidy policies, the use of new technologies and sustainability of distribution services. Upon concluding its work, the group will submit a report to Mines and Energy minister Bento Albuquerque, including an action plan and modernization proposals.
