São Paulo – The Brazilian Ministry of Tourism announced last Friday (28th) that it is going to invest 440 million reals (US$ 235 million) in professional training projects in the cities that will host the matches of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Brazil.
According to the ministry, the aim is to provide training to 306,000 tourism industry professionals, including workers, businessmen and managers, in addition to generating 8,000 new jobs.
According to the executive secretary of the ministry, Mário Moysés, the training program will be divided into three parts: foreign language training, training to micro businessmen, and training to tourism industry workers.
