São Paulo – The Brazilian Ministry of Tourism inaugurated today (27), in Dubai, an intense promotion campaign for Brazil in the Arab country. Representatives of Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Institute) are currently in the Emirates to attend the Emirates Holidays workshop, held by Emirates Airlines, and the Arabian Travel Market trade fair, which will begin on Tuesday (01) and will go on until Friday (04). The workshop kicked off today and will continue until Sunday. In addition to the general public, the event is turned to professionals in the tourism industry.
Brazil is the latest trend in the country, and Emirates Airlines will inaugurate in October its Dubai-São Paulo flight, six days a week. To Jeanine Pires, president of Embratur, who is in Dubai to attend both events, the new flight will open a gateway into Brazil not only for Arab countries, but also for India and Asia.
The Brazilian delegation will hold presentations about the country to approximately 500 travel agents throughout the weekend. Embratur will highlight the cities of Rio de Janeiro (NE), São Paulo (NE), Foz do Iguaçu (S) and Amazonas (N), since those are the major destinations announced by Emirates Airlines, in a brochure that has not yet been published in South America.
This is the first time that Brazil participates in the Emirates Holidays, an event promoted by the company on a yearly basis. Up until Sunday, visitors will see musicians and dancers doing regular samba presentations throughout the day. On Sunday, the company will offer a gala dinner commanded by four Brazilian chefs.
In May, Embratur will participate in the International Tourism Salon (SIT) in Lima, Peru, and in June the company will attend the Eurocotal fair, in Malaga, Spain.
