São Paulo – A group of technicians from the Department of Agriculture of the United States has agreed to the sanitation conditions of the mango produced in Bahia, state in the Northeast region of Brazil. This means exports from the region to the country are likely to continue. Nine technicians made surveillance visits between the 4th and 6th this month.
The São Francisco Valley exports mango to the United States since 1998. Only last year, the region sold 28,000 tonnes of fruit, with revenues of US$ 19 million. The information is form the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply.
