São Paulo – Morocco is investing in developing itself as a new technologies’ hub. The country is already positioned as an influential research and development (R&D) destination in the field of innovative technologies, said the Moroccan minister delegate for Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Ghita Mezzour. Information is from the country’s official press agency, Maghreb Arabe Press (MAP).
According to Mezzour, Morocco already has strategic importance in Africa. The executive also said the digitalization sector in Morocco attracts investments from countries such as the United States, France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, Japan, and India. It also employs 120,000 people in the Arab nation.
Morocco has been seeking partnerships around the world. Recently, the minister delegate was in India, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with a local company for an investment project in Morocco. The agreement provides for the creation of jobs in the area of coding, software, and computing services.
At the national level, Mezzour recalled two agreements were signed to create a programming and coding school and a startup incubation center in the Oriental region.
