Rabat – Morocco’s imports totaled MAD 278.8 billion (USD 29.4 billion) from January to July, up 10% over the same period of last year. Exports totaled MAD 160.3 billion (USD 16.9 billion), up 11.4% in the same comparison. The information was published this Tuesday (04) by news outlet Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP).
As a result, the country’s trade deficit reached MAD 118.4 billion (USD 12.5 billion) in the year’s first seven months, an increase of 8.2% over the same period of 2017.
Imports of capital good, fuels and consumer goods went up. On the other hand, there was an increase in exports of aerospace industry products, auto industry products, phosphate and products, and pharmaceuticals.
