São Paulo – Motorcycle production in Brazil dropped 29.7% in 2016 in comparison to 2015 to 887,653 units, according to data made public this Wednesday (18) by the Brazilian Motorcycle, Moped and Bicycle Manufacturers Association (Abraciclo).
It was the lowest production numbers since 2002. In December, 32,814 motorcycles were produced, down 35.2% over the same month of 2015. In the comparison with November of 2016, it declined 53.3%.
In 2016, sales dropped 27.9% in comparison to 2015. In December, 56,155 motorcycles were sold, a decline of 18.9% over the same month of 2015 and of 5.4% over November 2016.
Exports slid 14.6% in 2016 in comparison to the previous year with 59,022 units sold abroad.
