São Paulo – Holding company Mubadala, from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, posted 16 billion dirhams (US$ 4.35 billion) in revenues in H1 this year. The sum is 8.1% higher than in H1 2013. The information was released this Thursday (18th) in a press release.
Operations carried out in H1 2014 include the acquisition, in partnership with Holland’s Trafigura, of a 65% stake in Rio de Janeiro’s Porto Sudeste, and the inauguration of GE’s Ecomagination Center, a project for developing sustainable urban solutions in Masdar City. Masdar City is a planned Abu Dhabi neighbourhood completely oriented towards eco-friendly technology.
“The company managed strong operational performance in the first half of this year. We achieved key milestones while continuing to invest at home and internationally, as the global economy stabilized in key markets,” said Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO and managing director of Mubadala, according to the press release.
“In line with our investment philosophy, we will continue to look for the right opportunities for capital deployment in strategic sectors that are important to Abu Dhabi and its future,” he added.
In H1, Mubadala posted US$ 626.2 million in operating income and total assets were US$ 60.79 billion.
